A New Chapter Unfolds at Maui Pig Sanctuary

Wow, we are halfway thru the year! So many changes …

Since our big move in December, life here at the Sanctuary has been a wonderfully lively whirl of activity! Imagine relocating a farm’s worth of cherished memories after 31 incredible years—it’s been no small feat, but what a journey it’s been. We currently have 30 piggies living at the Makawao Sanctuary and 59 at Mahi Pono.

Now, we’re beautifully settled into our magical forest sanctuary and a dream horse facility in Kula, Maui (Jillian’s Stables). The progress is truly amazing: we’ve already built five permanent piggy houses and two temporary ones, as well as we’ve successfully fenced over half of our land! The momentum is unstoppable, and we can’t wait to share more with you.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to all our incredible volunteers who have dedicated their time and effort to building our new sanctuary homes – yes, that includes our enthusiastic piggy helpers! And a special shout-out to everyone who has donated financially and supplies; your generosity makes this progress possible.

While we’ve come so far, the work continues! If you’re inspired to lend a hand or contribute financially, we can absolutely still need your support.
